Volunteer Service with LoszuGhana

 

Before Ghana:

  1. You are interested in a volunteer service with LoszuGhana? Please apply on the website!

  2. After you have applied, we will assign a mentor for you who is going to contact you - he/she will answer your first questions about the organization and Ghana

  3. If you have decided to come for sure, you have to sign the application documents

  4. You will stay in contact with your mentor till you are leaving to Ghana, he/she will help you with your preparations such as Visa, Vaccinations etc.

Stay in Ghana:

  1. Pick up at the airport →

    a member of Loszughana is going to pick you up at the airport. You are going to take a bus to Kumasi together with him/her. Normally the bus takes around 6 hours to Kumasi. ( If there are more Volunteers arriving the next day, you will sleep in a hotel in Accra for one night)

  2. Arrival in Tanoso →

    Within your first days you are hosted in Tanoso Volunteer Room. We will make a round trip to Tanoso and show you anything you need. You can also change money and buy a mosquito net if needed in Kumasi/Kejetia.

  3. Preparation time→
    In Tansoso you are going to be prepared for your continuative stay in Ghana. The LoszuGhana Team teachs you some basic Twi and tells you something about ghanaian culture and your project

  4. Arrival in Project →

    You will have a guide to your project and get to know you host family/responsible person. If you have any questions or problems, please call the LoszuGhana office and if you like your mentor

  5. A responsible person of LoszuGhana is going to visit you in your project to have a look at the situation.

  6. If you have any problem or question within your time in the project, we take it serious. In this case, please call the LoszuGhana office and if you like your mentor

  7. After 10-14 days your mentor is calling you to see how you are doing

  8. At the weekends you have free time. You can visit the LoszuGhana Volunteer Room in Tanoso or travel around the country.

  9. You are also allowed to travel in the end of the stay

  10. During the whole stay you can call the LoszuGhana Office and your Mentor for questions, problems or in case of sickness

Please attend:

A volunteer service with LoszuGhana means mainly to work in your project. Traveling and parties should be an enjoying but smaller part of your stay.

In any case you have to respect and follow what the LoszuGhana staff and other responsible persons are telling you to avoid cultural misunderstanding.
