Our commitment

 

 

1. You register on the website and we will get in touch with you by e-mail.
2. We then check the availabitliy of the project you decide on.
3. During your travel preparations you can always contact us per mail or phone to seek advice.
4. Once you fly to Ghana we pick you up from the airport and bring you to your project.
5. Before starting on the project you get a two day introduction camp. The first day will be about general issues, the second will be a basic language course in Twi (the main local language).
6. We look after you during your stay and visit you once in while in your project to make sure things are working fine.  Through Douglas and Nana you will also get to meet the other volunteers who are working around Kumasi.
7. We will take care  of your visa extensions for you.

8. We will bring you to the airport for your return flight home.

 

Please note that you will have to organize your flight, insurance, vaccinations etc. yourself. 

 

Your Commitment/Fees

Since for Douglas and Nana costs, for instance travel costs, arise, there is a reconciliation to them of:
    • To pay once:
    • 150 Ghana Cedisfor organisation of project and hostfamily.        
    • 100 Ghana Cedis for Airport pickup. This includes accomodation, food and travel costs for you. So until you arrive in your project you don´t have to worry about changing money.
    • 20 Ghana Cedis "volunteer welfare", which is used for volunteers in case of emergency.
      • To pay monthly for each month spent in Ghana:
    • 60 Ghana Cedis  for general costs for each month you spend in Ghana.
    • 80-100 Ghana Cedis  each month to the hostfamily or project for your food and accomodation. Amount depending on the family or project, but maximum is 100 GHC.

      3 months - 750 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 350 Euro)  
      4 months - 910 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 430 Euro)  
      5 months - 1070 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 500 Euro)
      6 months - 1230 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 580 Euro)
      7 months - 1390 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 650 Euro)
      8 months - 1550 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 703 Euro)  
      9 months - 1710 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 800 Euro)
      10 months - 1870 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 880 Euro)
      11 months - 2030 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 960 Euro)
      12 months - 2190 Ghana Cedis - (etwa 1030 Euro)
You could bring with you some toys or story books if you are planning on working with children.
